Saved posts.

Saved turns an export of saved social posts into a small library that runs on the owner's laptop. It files the posts into topics whose overviews cite a post for every finding, gives quotes, recipes, places, news and tools views of their own, and answers questions from the saves with numbered citations. The public demonstration runs on a separate SAMPLE collection of 49 public-domain and openly licensed items; the owner's own library never leaves the machine.

The task

Project requirements.

A saved post is easy to keep and hard to find again: months later it sits in a grid of thumbnails, and finding it means remembering who posted it.

Product definition, the import and processing pipeline (harvest, transcribe, categorise, enrich), the local application (Python standard-library server, SQLite library with full-text search, plain JavaScript interface) and its interface design, by Imad A. Adel.

Runs entirely on the owner's laptop; a status page reports import and processing coverage.

Answers from a model small enough to run on a laptop take 5 to 25 seconds, and their phrasing can be uneven. All 43 processed sample posts are drafts written on the laptop; none has been reviewed. The sample does not exercise every label: its 9 quotes are all exact, it holds no memes, and none of its 7 news posts states an event date. Local application only: not deployed, no public address, no accounts, no sync and no phone app. The screenshots and the walkthrough film are the public artefacts.
